Trip computer resets itself at start???

I am officially a 3gen owner now Oo. Oo.



I have a question about the trip computer. I think mine is not acting right. the MPG calculation resets to 0. 0 every time I start the truck. Put another way if I drive for a while and have 18. 5 mpg when I stop, then turn the truck off and back on my reading is 0. 0. It then starts to build up from there.



Is there a way to make it so it does not reset on start, or is something wrong with mine? the manual just mentions pushing the reset button.

I had the same problem with the mileage computer on my Toyota Avalon. I'm sure they all work the same way. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the unit under warranty.

i had that happen on my 03 1500... along with that, the outside temp gauge didn't read anything... i believe they replaced the overhead piece and it fixed it. .
