When the star scan tool is hooked up and the mechanic is reading all the parimeters they all read within parimeters for when the truck was last reflashed at about 4,500 miles and now has 25,000 miles. Every parimeter reads normal except the Trip fuel, it reads zero. He thinks a programmer or fueling module was on the truck but I bought it new and it's been stock since day one. I took it in because the injection pump is leaking and their going to replace it under warranty. He swears the only thing that will erase the ECM parimeters is a downloader, module, or reflash.

What could cause this reading? He's got me nervious now.

What's the lastest reflash for a 2006, they didn't put a sticker on the radiator cowl?

Thanks,

Ive been complaining to my dealer in Dinuba,Calif regarding the poor fuel mileage since i bought the truck new. Ive taken it to a couple independent shops to get their take on my mpg. The last one was performance deisel in Bakersfeild. They found nothing but agreed that my mpg is definately poor. About a month after that appt with performance i went back to the dealer still complaing about my mpg and they hooked it up to star scan and they said my run time didnt match the mileage. Me and the sevice mgr got into an big disagreement in front of the shop employees and customers after he said i must have had some type of programmer or ?. I argued my point as my truck did not ever have a programmer. He said what ever your doing stop it. Thats when i got mad and said i never did anything. The run time discrepency i attribute to performance deisel when they scanned my truck. Because the run time was equal to runnning the truck only a month. I called performance and was told that they used there snap on scanner but they werent able to check all peramanters as they did have the software for the 2006. Is it possible that there scanner cleared something? I told the service mgr to give me the # to chrysler star scan so i could argue my point. But would not give it to me.

I guess i will have to hope that i dont get any issues that need the dealer for repair under warranty. As im sure that this key count issue will defineately cause star scan to question any warranty work. I'll just hope for the best.

No i was just told by bob the service mgr that star scan said there was a discrepency in what the run time should be. I stated earlier key count but i made a mistake and meant to say run time. Sorry for the confusion.
