Trip to Canada

We are trying to plan a trip to Canada from St. Louis just over the border... . Somewhere around Lake of the Woods. Does anyone have any ideas of good lodges to stay at in that area??? I've been on the internet but it seems like there are thousands in that area... . Anyone with experience??
