Trip to MD

Just got back from a quick trip to MD. Picked up a car and trailered it back home. The interesting thing was that I only saw two first gens on the whole trip. One like mine, but burgundy & gold. The other was a white W350 that looked to be in perfect condition, towing a nice horse trailer. This was in PA and it had PA plates. Don't suppose this may be a member's truck? My truck did a great job through the mountains, gotta love that Cummins.

Mine loves altitude - the higher I go the faster she wants to go! In June of '98 I was heading back east on I80 running up Lincoln Pass (8000+') towing my trailer - the pass was under construction and the construction speed was 55 - I thought I was going to wear out my brakes trying to keep it under 60



Seriously - when I run the mountains my '93 seems to run better and wants to go faster.

The best part is the looks you get when passing lesser (non-Cummins powered) trucks on those grades.

Russell, sorry I missed your trucks. The final destination was College Park. Went across I-68/I-70/I-270 if my memory is good. Through Cumberland, Hagerstown and Frederick. My grandparents needed a car after an accident, and I picked up a great deal on ebay - great enough to be worth the trip. Was a good excuse to see MD. Sure is pretty in those mountains. My 83 year old grandfather enjoyed the trip too.

Ha ha, glad to hear you had a safe trip! You are right too, there aren't many 1st gens to be spotted in this area, but plenty of 24ver's... oh well. I live just north of College Park, and you again have a point... the mountains are nice as little as they are.
