Axle Question

Im planning on pulling my TT back to Minnesota here in a few weeks. Right now, here in Seattle, Im paying about $2. 08+ for diesel. Can anyone give me an idea of what I might be paying along the way ? On the way, Im going I-90 to Billings, then going the north route {I-94) thru Bismarck and Fargo ND to Park Rapids Mn. On the way back, Ill be taking the southern tour (I-90 all the way) thru SD.

Also, on another issue, I just had my summer tires put back on my truck. I just noticed that they put the more marginal tires on the back wheels. Since Im pulling a trailer (19', probably about 3600 lbs), shouldnt the better tires be on the rear ? Or does it matter ?

Thanks,

I have been paying 1. 61 here in Blue Earth, right on I-90 in southern Minnesota. Been out to Rapid City three times since January and highest I hav eseen was 1. 71at Mitchell. My brother is one of the managers at the Windmill truck stop in Rapid and right now they are running 1. 67. Cheapest I have seen in the area was in Faribault and that was 1. 57 about two weeks ago.

Thanks for the info. If that holds true across country ( I thought it might, we get royaly screwed by the oil companies here in Seattle), my trip will be a whole lot less expensive that Im afraid it might be.

Cheaper as you go east until MN.

Bismarck is at $1. 69 but you should Fargo the cheapest. Along the interstate good filling sites are Cenex in Mile City MT (MT has hit fuel tax = expensive fuel), FLying J in Beach ND, Oasis Truck stop (very east side of town) in Bismarck, ND, Cenex in Steele ND, Conoco in Jamestown ND, Petro Truck stop in Fargo or Flying J in Fargo (just south on I29). You will find a fair amount of construction in ND already. Most areas have 65mph in the contruction zone.

Have a save trip.

I just made that trip, going all the way to WI and back. I could give you the price in every state on your route if you want. I think the average price was about 1. 85. Let me know if you want me to pull my receipts.
