Recently sold my truck with triple pod on pillar. I dealt with the blind spot for several years, have a new truck on order and would lke to purchase a dash pod, anyone give me there opinoins if you have these gauges. Is the install much more difficult, is the view over the pod hard to deal with. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

I have the dash pod, it tucks down low on the windshield, does not block your view what so ever. The dash panel pops up to be removed, I think the install is rather easy to do. You won't loose your grab handle either.

That's what I used for my H2O temp, oil pressure, and fuel pressure gauges. The biggest issue I had was finding a way to run the wires and tubing, which wasn't long enough. But it sits down out of the way, and I can actually read the gauges without glasses :D , unlike the ones on the pillar, which sit entirely too close.

The pod does not obscure my vision, but I am taller (6'4") than average so I might not be the best reference. On my '04, the dash panel pops up easily for installation. I did not have but wish I did a Dremel type of tool to remove some of the "ribs" on the underside of hte dash panel to create a "channel" or "groove" for the wires to lay in. If you don't have one, I'd say get one - it will help avoid a lot of frustration. Electrical power can be another quandry - I found a large blue "hot" wire in the main bundle under the dash and tapped in for gauge lights, used the dome/dimmer for the gauge lights. Overall, am very happy with the appearance and functionality of the install. Used Isspro gauges and the Autometer triple pod from Geno's.

I put in a triple pod on the dash the other week with Isspro's. I'm very happy with it. As others have said... it sits low enough, but yet you can still read them easily. I'm very happy I went that route. Install was easy enough. Check out NavyDood... he posted a great thread on his install with pics :D , very nice job... wiring included :-laf After having the pillar mount on my 01, I like this dash mount better.

  I know I'm gonna need some help from my son... . especially since he's got "the camera" If it weren't for him... I'd still be using the disposables :-laf I still haven't posted pictures of our truck & camper under the reader rigs   I'll work on getting something together...

Check stylinconcepts.com I was looking through there book and the have a dash cover that has a triple gauge built in it looks pretty sweet. The guages set toward the middle of the dash just right of the wheel.

Dash pod is great. Right there just below the line of sight, very easy to keep a watch on. Doesn't seem to have effected the defroster in any way either. Only wish it had room for 4 gauges instead of three.
