I'm going back in June. I would say that 1370 is cheap for what you get in that thing. Anyone who say the precision machining inside the ATS converter at MM knows why they have to charge a bit more for it. To be honest, I can't see how they can do all that work in those things and only[\i] charge 400 bucks more than those who sell a converter that has a stock (or close) lockup clutch. I think it is a heck of a deal. The more I drive my truck with the DTT converter, the more I want to loose the dependency on a very tight fluid coupling; there is too much smoke, lag, and heat. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO looking forward to getting the ATS setup! :D Oo. :D Oo. :D Oo. :D

Interesting. I wonder why ATS now recommends new input shafts. There hasn't been a mention of it anywhere until now. Is anyone breaking their input shafts that runs the ATS stuff?

There is no reason not to run a cryoed input shaft. At eight or so bucks a pound, it is very cheap insurance.

Sorry for misunderstanding, but they never told me my trans. will be fine just with TC and I never set that. And they know I will purchase VB later on. They mention the input shaft only after I ask them , if they recommend to do something when trans. is out of the truck, on my mind was like some seal or such. They basickly stated, if I plan to rise HP and torgue lot, which I em not, will be good idea to install the input shaft. And Fred Swanson is right, is better to do trans. upgrade as a system. Sure will be better to install better clutches inside the trans. but is very hard to recommed this upgrade, to somebody with 5000 miles on trans. In this case is the nonsense to assume you will have problem with input shaft, if you install the tripleloc TC. I choose the ATS product, because of the ideas how this TC is put together( 3 clutches and 100 % efficiency without need to increase line pressure , billet cover ) and less confusion. I was little confuse with other companies products, like selling different % of efficiency in TC ( I think everybody want 100 %) a lot of add ons which look like they do same thing. I hope this clarify my post, at least little.

M Evan, I'm not sure if you're saying this, but do you only have 5,000 miles on your truck? If so, the TripleLok and VB is a great choice for you. It will make your trans last longer, and be A LOT more fun to drive.

My truck moves out so much easier now that I got my trans ATS'd. It feels like it is about 2,000 pounds lighter now. I'm sure I am getting better gas mileage.

There is a freeway entrance I use about 5 times a week and there is a "diamond lane" logo painted on the pavement. In the old days, before my TripleLok was installed, I could only hit about 33 m. p. h. when I would cross over that diamond lane logo. Now, after my ATS rebuild I can hit 45 m. p. h. at the same point!

rrausch, yes I do have only 5000 miles on the truck. I will add the VB next month, but not the sure yet about the electronic controller. Did you have any upgrade on you engine ? I only add the Power Edge EZ and KN filter and install the gauges (EGT ,boost. trans. temp and the fuel pressure ). I em thinking to install the bigger injectors after the instalation of the TC and VB, but I don't know, if this will not create the problem with exhaust temperature, rising to much.

I've got a 12 valve engine, and am running a #6 tst plate, and a K&N, so I figure I'm putting out about 230 h. p. and 600 Ft. Lbs. of torque. It is very smart of you to do the TC now. You will have A LOT more fun with your truck. Then, when you get the Valve Body you can just pull the pan and install it fairly easily. Call Don if you have any questions. He or Clint will walk you through the installation. Do you have an exhaust brake? Do you tow? I would think guys who tow would have to watch ex. temps. more diligently than guys who don't.

No, I don't have engine brake. I tow trailer (funrunner) with quads and the boat (larson cabrio 254 ) I assume weight for both set up is around 7000 #. So far I like how Dodge handle this task.

Ok, just want to say, new ats triplelok tc is in my truck and is such big difference . I never thought could be so big. Now this truck feel live and strong from begining and when this lockup clutch engage, you can't miss that. :D

So far very happy with my decision. Oo.
