My lift pump went out and was finally fixed by Herrsteins on 11/7/05. The invoice lists a reflash, but I assumed it had to do with the lift pump conversion, associated relays and modules etc etc
As some of you know, I've been hauling horses for a living since I shut my machine shop down and recently responded to a MPG question. I was always 12. 5 MPG or there abouts no matter the terrain east of the rockies, loaded with 3 horses or none, Edge on 4, 2 or off the truck completely and the overhead was always 15. 5 MPG or there abouts. These are 2,000 to 6,000 mile runs and should give a pretty decent average.
On this last trip out which was 5,648 miles, my overhead was 16. 5 to 17. 5 and on the last easy run I reset it from Rolla, Mo to Chillicothe, Oh and it read over 20 :-{}
I haven't sat down and loaded all of my fuel receipts into my spread sheet, but I'm thinking I got one of the 1st '03 reflashes that I never had and didn't want.
I think I read that reflashes are permanent, and I also think I read that they were to be requested. I just had words with this dealer over the lift pump deal and their slipping service department, what can I do if they did an unwanted reflash?
BTW, this trip was west of the rockies to San Diego, Ca and shoulda produced lower MPG numbers on the overhead and calculated I'd think ... ... ... ... again I need to load my receipts into my spreadsheet ... ... ... ... . but, based on EGT's there is NO oxygen out there!
