I encountered a problem during the one hour ride from home down to our favorite campground today. Running unloaded at about 65 on cruise I would get an occasional "burp" out of the engine - power drop off for a split second and a huff of blue smoke out the pipe. I checked the codes on arrival and had a P0230 "Tranfer Pump (Lift Pump) Circuit out of range - problem detected in fuel transfer circuits. A couple of weeks ago I checked the codes and found a P1693/P0216 combo out there and I guess that is the begining of the end for the injection pump. I changed the fuel filter out yesterday and while it took a bit to get the fuel cannister reprimed, I succeeded in doing so. I'll try cleaning the lift pump plug and hitting it with contact grease. My fuel pressure gauge (sender is out) is non-functional so I don't know what it's putting out right now. (Bad me for not fixing it yesterday but we wanted to get gone to the camp - ah well)

The real question here is do you have any other advice on causes of a P0230? I need to get in to the dealer to start to run the maze for the P0216.

Thanks Bruce
