Troubles with 06

Well this morning i was on my way to town when i noticed a miss well i get to my buddys shop and notice that it is chirping out the exhaust so i am guessing Its a valve or valve seat the truck only has 34000 miles on it but i guess the heat got to it. I would say warranty is out of the question so i guess i will pull the head today and take it to get fixed this week. I will have a tst, mp8, clutch, fass pump, and a quad xzt for sale now as I think after two trannys and a head I am done pulling.

Let us know what ya find out Bigd, how much for the TST :-laf and will the clutch work in my Miller Light built transmission :-laf ! Hope there isnt nothin real major wrong!

What went wrong with the 2 trannies? Were they both G56's? I was just considering a double disc clutch for mine, and the smarty as well... is this too much for the transmission?

Mine did something similar a month or so ago. I removed the TST (for good) and it runs great now. Just a thought before you start tearing the engine down.

Sledpulling with a stock charger is like russian roulette!

I can see your egt's going well up into the 2000* area every time.

I pulled last year with a SPS66 with the same fuel you have now and I was maxxing the egt gauge then.



Its probably a valve seat.

Would there be any noise coming from the motor with a valve seat. My engine sounds like new but i have a miss and a chirp out the exhaust.

yes you should hear a tapping or loud metalic sound, mainly when first starting you truck, and after you get going. somtimes it will go away when it warm up

if the engine sounds fine it may be a electric miss or a head gasket thats bad...

It was a headgasket.
