2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission troubleshoot / repair heated mirror ideas

I got the truck in TX so I did not realize the mirror heater on the drivers side was not working until last winter here in NY. The button presses fine, you hear the relay click, and the pass mirror melts the ice/fog off. Nothing on the drivers side. Anyone had this problem? Suggested troubleshooting procedures or ideas would be great. I would love to get this thing going before the winter here. I park outside so it would save some scraping.

You could check the power to the heater grid at the mirror connector or remove the glass and ck it right at the glass

in case you can't fix it and want a replacement, i have a set off of a family member's truck that has no problems, power heated. PM me if you're interested. But the only thing to check I'd think would be the connector behind the door panel right where the wires come in from outside.
