Is there a good alarm system on the market that will work with the factory keyless entry. I'm getting paranoid hearing about trucks being stolen.

There are many Auto and Truck Accessories Stores that sell and install good alarm systems. My 95 Dodge/Cummins, which I ordered new, had the keyless entry. I didn't order the alarm because I was led to believe that the after markets were better at that time. I was wrong. I did have one installed. Alarms are not fool proof however. For additional ideas on safeguarding your vehicle see the thread about a man from Colorado that had his truck stolen in Phoenix about two weeks ago.

That thread is call, "Truck Stolen from Phoenix 1/15/17". It has 86 posts with many good suggestions to hopefully keep our trucks from getting stolen. The thread was started on 16 Jan 07 be GTX.

I love my club. Deterent is the key, statistically thieves take the path of least resistance, and the club also pays your deductable under certian conditions. If they want it they WILL get it. Kill switch is also another great option,I feel all the flashing lights and sirens do not get much attention anymore. Good luck

Viper

I had a Viper installed on my '99 back in '99 that worked perfectly with the keyless. The two remotes actually replaced the factory fobs. and never let me down.

I had a Viper in my Camaro, and it worked with keyless entry. I can't say that it works, because I don't think anyone's every tried to steal it. :-laf Seriously, if you're worried about it being stolen, a regular car alarm won't do you much. Check out Ravelco. They've been in business for over 30 years and haven't had one vehicle ever reported stolen.

Viper

Had mine installed about 2 months ago. Also came with remote starter. I love it. They will work with factory keyless. I can start my truck as im brushing my teeth, get my boots on, and she's had the minute or two to wake up before i get in it. It can also be programmed to operate many other functions in a vehicle, such as heated seats, rear defogger, and so on. I'm pretty sure there won't be any factory options that it will operate on our trucks though, but i'm pretty sure aftermarket stuff can also be made to work, depending on what it is and how it works. Another awesome feature, is the automatic turbo cooldown. I pull in the driveway, press 2 buttons, take my key out, and hit the arm button. Truck shuts itself off after 1 minute... but can be changed to different intervals.

Viper, Code Alarm, Clifford, take your pick, they all pretty much come out of the same few factories and most work very well, far better than any factory alarm I have ever seen (most of which are dealer installed, not actually from the factory). As far as the club goes, if someone wants your vehicle it will only slow them down 15 seconds. The club is one of the easiest things to get around.

Sorry for the hijack - My GPS was stolen out of my CTD. They gained access by breaking the window. Of course, the factory system didn't care about that. Do the others?

While you are waiting to get an alarm, when you park it you can remove the #9 fuse(power to the fuel system). Truck wont start without it. I also removed all my spare fuses and put them in my tool box in the back. It would take a pretty smart theif to find that a fuse was missing and then do something about it. Eventually I am going to wire a switch inline to this fuel circuit so I don't have to hastle with removing a fuse everytime I park. I was even thinking about using the passenger air bag switch for this purpose. (having a second one in the glove box for the airbag... ) Just a thought.

I've heard of people wiring up kill switches so that, if you don't flip the switch, it blows a fuse. Then even if a thief does find the switch, it still won't start. Seems like a pretty neat idea.
