Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) truck dead !!!! help

:{ my brother inlaws truck died last night sounds like a fuel issue when he cycles the key i can hear what i believe to be the pump making some lounds whining noise ..... i have a 12 valve so im gonna need some help on this one cause his is a 24 valve ..... not really my cup of tea ya know..... any help would be appreciated

Well, sounds like the lift pump is running, or trying to run... ... ... okay, then what?

Sorry to ask but it has happened ( FUEL GAUGE MIS-FIRE)



Whats his Fuel Pressure . .

More info, what happens when he tries to start the engine?

Does it make ANY sounds when he tries to start it?

"DieselMinded" Does it have fuel? CEL on? Any codes?

If its a manual did he remember to push in the clutch? (not being a smart *ss)

If not, is it in Park? (again not trying to be smart)

etc, etc, etc... ... .
