Ok, here's what happened. Truck started up fine, but when I went to shift the truck back into park, as soon as I moved the shifter out of drive the truck died. No hesitation, no stumble, just goes off like you turned it off. It happened a couple of times last July and I brought it in to the dealer but they couldn't find anything wrong. Also last July there was an instance when I went to turn the brights on and I pulled the switch and all the lights went out. I clicked the dims on and all the lights came back on. I haven't had a problem with either of them since then, but a couple of days ago I was going into town, forgot to grab the post office keys and I went to shift her back into park and it died. It did it three times that morning, but never happened again the rest of the day. I have heard of problems with the switch for the brights, but not sure if the two are related.

Thanks for the help.

Havent heard of that problem but it sure sounds like a wirein problem in the steerin colum wirein. I would suggest takein the plastics off the colum and checkin the wireing. Check the plug where it plugs in the the key tumbler and all the wirein down the colum under the dash. Hope this helps in the soultion to your problem

Garrett,

I was kinda thinkin the same thing. Someone had mentioned that it might be the governorpressure solenoid and transducer in the transmission but I haven't been having any of the other symptoms that go with that (transmission not shifting down into 1st gear, going into limp mode, not idling at stop). Guess it's time to get out the voltage meter and go a searchin. :{
