Ok so my buddy has a 97 and it died on him while it was running. He said it sounded like it ran out of fuel. He put 5 gallons in it and bleed out the lines just in case and it wouldn't start. He changed the fuel filter and tried again. Still wouldn't start.

I guess there is a manual way to pump the LP up and he did that and got fuel at the injectors.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

was there air when he bled the lines if there was I think he would have to bleed system all the way to the injectors. I could be wrong but i don't think you can bleed air past the pump with the primer, you have to crack open the bleeder nuts and crank motor with the starter, again I might be wrong but this is how I have done it.

Hope this helps

If he ran out of fuel while running there's an air embolism somewhere. Did he crack the injector lines on the passenger side of the engine compartment? Unless you're getting fuel here it won't start. I replaced the Orings in my liftpump and couldn't prime to save my life. After some thinking, I put my air compressor line in the tank at 10psi and stuffed the opening with rags to seal. The low pressure air forced fuel through the system. I pumped the liftpump 300-400 times before resorting to air.

Already replaced my fuel supply/return and liftpump softline with marine grade diesel line. If he hasn't done this it's time. Don't forget to check the strainer and gaskets at the fuel preheater. My philosphy is if I didn't do the maintenance then it wasn't done.

Thanks everyone, I don't know if he got it fixed cause I've been out of town but he has been checking in here to see what the word was.

Thanks again!!!
