My truck had this behavior.

Right before the VP44 gave out. There were other problems later but the first was almost stalling putting it into gear. I had the DTT transmission and EDGE box / RV275's at the time. New VP$$, same DTT transmission, Comp Box and M1. 5's now... . not a hint of trouble getting into gear.

Well ever since my last post my truck has only stalled maybe 5 times. No particular reason or situation. I haven't figured it out, it's frustruating because it's one of those problems I can't fix! :( Wish I had better info for you guys but I don't. I'm in CA too and we don't get winter fuel where I live.

SpunkysRam, My truck did the same thing this summer. It died going from reverse to drive real quickly after start-up and backing out from a parking place. It did it 3 times in one day. What I noticed was it was hot 90+ deg. , the a/c was on, fan clutch was engaged, and I have a DTT with 89% T/C. I think it was alot of load at idle and when dropped into drive it felt like the electronic governor couldn't catch up quick enough and it would die like the key was turned off. If the winter reflash raises the low idle, that may help, I would like to know. All I have is an EZ and I would like to put in some 1. 5 edm's and a dodgezilla, but I don't want to make a FUSSY truck either.

Well today drove truck about 20 miles and also pushed in on the schrader valve at the fuel filter and did bleed some air out of system while truck was running and no problems going into drive or reverse. Tuck seems to run fine now.

I hope that's not the case, I just spent some serious money on a fuel pump just to keep the VP44 happy and give me piece of mind.

I'm still leaning towards the winter blend. My truck sat in the garage for a good 2 1/2 weeks because once my Holley showed 7psi leaving for work one morning I parked it right away until I decided what pump to replace it with. During that time frame was when AK switched over to the winter blend. After my first fill up with the winter blend is when I started having problems going into gear, runs like a Gold medalist otherwise. Like I said before, Stanadyne helped out alot and stalls are far and few between, maybe twice since using the additive.

Others here in AK have experianced the same symptoms so it gives me hope it's not the VP. :)
