Truck dies when putting in Drive

Its about zero degrees here in Anchorage and I,m developing a new problem. With the engine Hot I put it in Drive and it dies. Idle is at 775 rpm in neutral and of course pulls down when in gear. It does not do this all the time but is becoming more frequent. Also does it when the exhaust brake is engaged in neutral. Rpm,s with brake on are 675 and pulls way down to 500 rpm,s when initially engaged. Also the governor ?? sometimes makes the truck rev up and down when putting in gear as the truck trys to compensate for the load. What do you think ? a ba d TPS ? Thanks

Have you tried disconnecting your fast idle control to see if it still does it.

There is a reflash for your problem 18-14-01. I had it done on my truck and it took care of my stalling problem with the Super Mentals. It was developed in Alaska because cummins were loosing to many engines. Hope this helps.

Well I had the reflash TSB 18-014-01 done to my truck today by the dealer and he called saying it no fix the problem ,could he keep it overnight for more testing and xlso charge me more money. Anyway I need HELP. Dealer is talking about lift pump injector pump pressure. Whats this got to do with the truck dying when I put it in gear? HELP before the dealer puts the scews to me.
