what did you connector tubes look like? rusty or clean? inside of fuel filter housing? you can take a fuel line and cut it up and make a block off tool for your high press rail and eliminate injectors almost totally. compression can feed back and cause all sorts of issues. white smoke usually indicates poor compression firing. or turbo feeding oil.
