I saw a late model Ram on fire at the engine compartment on I-35 between New Braunfels and San Marcos, Tx yesterday afternoon (07/21/18). I wonder if it was the water pump issue. It was heavily involved as we passed by. The FD had not arrived.

I must’ve just missed it. I was in that area yesterday afternoon picking up a trailer I had some repairs done to.

It may have been Ecodiesel? Lately I read of fires weekly on the ED.

I'm wondering if as black as the smoke is..... it probably is a diesel? Or is that not an image of the same fire????

We saw a car (honda or nissan) that had rammed the back.of a Subaru near Orlando, on the Florida Turnpike on June 14rh, 2018.
Thick smoke coming off the front like that, but not as black.

By the time the first responders opened the road, they were pumping foam into the fuel tank.

His ID is Bodcat67 and at other forums he give's a detailed history right up to the fire. I've spoke to him on the Phone, He did everything correct above and beyond stopping this fire, He remove ALL the Sound Foam, carried fire EXT and use it, Work was done to the front cover days before fire, He took it to a self-self carwash and cleaned the engine bay of oil residue, He practice great engine hygiene and check for rodent activity Just before fire.

The engine fires and failures continue, at the rate the ED problems are developing its going to go down in flames, its a hero or zero build.

Bobcat67 fire event shows it can happen to any Ecodiesel.

Yeah 5500 with a service body. Transfer case blew up like a hand grenade went off. Burst into flames instantly. Just had to back up and watch it go.

Let me guess. You didn't spring for the BW lube and went with dexron?

It was a company truck. Dealer had replaced the transfer case about 20k before it blew. I have no idea what fluid was in it from the dealer.
