Man, I WANTED that truck! :{ I just couldn't bring myself to have 2 trucks when I'm still paying for the other.

I was told that this truck might have the 53 block. I was unaware that this was a problem on the 12v's. Since I have not ruled out buying one in the near future, could someone clear that up for me. Thanks.

That's a clean looking truck. I thought the 98's had back doors. This one doesn't appear to have the suicide doors. I'd love a 98 12v long bed! Did the early 98's have the 2 door version of the quadcab?

That is a club cab model. They were made till 1999, kind of rare though! That truck is sweet minus the cheap red rhino liner yuk

the only reason i would trade my 97 cc for a 98 would be for the quad cab and the updated interior, a few years back , before i really got into CTD's my dad had a 98 12v 4x4 2500 longbed, I wish he kept it for me...

AMlink, you're right, that truck doesnt have suicide doors. . never seen the new interior model without the extra doors. . thats different...

tpOd. .

Actually whats rare is a 98 Quad Cab as they were optional in 1998 and the Ext Cab was standard. Now in early 99 models the Ext Cab was very rare and as hard to find as they went completely Quad Cab that year... ..... Andy

Hammer,
You have raised my eyebrows with this info  ... being that I have a 1998 'Centurion' Quad -Cab.

Does anybody have the build totals for that year? I know there is a fellow (Galen) who has been cracking the build numbers for specific years, models, options ect ect for the older Mopars(cars) He is very accurate with his info database... I have never heard of anyone doing this for our Rams though... .
Could be useful if someone does have this information though...

"This truck: Date of Manufacture-- 8/97. (Look at door jamb info plate! ) 1998 is a typo. "

1998 is not a typo. The letter W in the VIN (10th digit) indicates 1998 model year.

Mhalloran:

New model year begins in june, or 6 of the year. So a truck made in 6/97 could be the end of the 97's or the beginning of the 98's. In this case, 8/97 is definetly a 98 model year. I guess i could be wrong i duno
