Okay, so I'm going out for pizza and I get in the truck, turn the key, wait for the seat belt chime to chime three times, its still too warm for the wait to start light, and I start the beast up. 3-4 seconds later the darn thing shuts off. remove the key, look around for a second and then try again, same thing happens. No code on the edge, but now I notice that the light on the dash is lit, telling me that the security thingy is working. The truck forgot my key. I went back it, searched this site for a few then tried again, now it is working just fine. If anyone has any ideas on why this is going on please help me. Thanks

Do you keep any items like a speedpass transponder on your key ring? Anything like that or an extra key can cause interference on the system.

nothing extra on my key ring, just normal keys? It did it again this morning and after pressed the button on the remote to lock the doors and then the unlock button it was fine. This is really wierd.

Had a friend with a gasser 2400 that had a similar issue. The key was in the ignition with radio on and a door was opened and the alarm went off. Had to punch the remote door lock/unlock to clear the alarm. Must have something to do with the factory alarm system.

My thoughts exactly - Or maybe was the key around a high powered magnet at one time?

I would certainly let your dealer know though...

no high powered magnets, it has been working fine since that day, maybe I should just keep my fingers crossed and hope it dowsn't happen again. The dealerships here in SC really like to take away warranty so I really don't want to go and see them.
