Most states today have a mandatory requirement for a BioDiesel blend. Our home heating fuel here on LI averages a 5% bio blend. The first year there was a lot of issues with clogged nozzels as the Bio's solvent properties cleaned out old systems. by the 2nd year all was forgotten about and the issues are back to normal or below. Also the FAA has been testing Bio blended Jet fuels for about ten years now. At 35,000 feet the temp is cold very cold Fuel Gelling would be a major issue on a jet.... That said if your supplier is winterizing the fuel the right way and your getting fuel in your area, not buying in say Fla then going back to Alaska with that un winterized fuel. You're chances of having an issue with gelling are greatly reduiced. I'm not saying it can't happen everyone can screw up. But the chances are less. Buy your fuel at a supplier where the fuel turn over is great, a truck stop. They will have the best chance of having really fresh fuel and blended to what's needed for todays weather.

Bio does not work the same as petro when it comes to anti gel additives. As far as the FAA goes there's a big difference between diesel and kerosene, which is what jet fuel is. I wouldn't expect kerosene to gel anymore than gasoline would. The problem with jet fuel is ice crystals forming.
