I was traveling out of my normal range last week and as I headed back home I got a DEF system message on my EVIC that said to see dealer. I called the local dealer's service desk and he said to bring it by and they'd see what the code was and how important it was. The scanned it and said it could be either bad DEF ( which I had just filled up on the trip a day or two earlier from a pump) or the SCR was bad. They said it was usually the SCR and got me rental so I could continue my trip home (only a 2.5 hr drive).
Went and picked it up today with no issues (covered by factory warranty too, including the rental). They didn't record the code on my paperwork or I'd pass that along. They did say the engine would eventually derate itself and eventually not start.
All this to say Corwin Dodge in Springfield Mo did good by me. I'm happy with them and the way the treated me knowing they'd probably not see me again.
