I now have 99k on my truck and today I went to start the truck and it didnt crank on the first try as it always does. So after about 4 cranks it started finally. I then went and picked up my boat and brought it home and after I parked the boat I tried to start my truck again and after a few cranks it started but now the truck was running rough, then it smoothed out after about 20 seconds. So I checked the FP and at idle I got about 13 PSI. So that seems fine so any help or ideas? I will try to replace the fuel filter again but I just replaced it not to long ago so I dont think its that.

What about the rubber fuel line at the back of the engine. This seems to be a common problem with the symtoms you describe?

If it is air getting into the system you might not be able to get it started after it sits for an extended time. Check all connections and like it was said above, check rubber hoses for cracks

Does the hose run off the back of the lift pump? I seen a few "wet" looking marks on the lift pump but no major.

mine was doing the same thing. i traced it down to the banjo at the injector pump for the return line. it was a very small leak. tried to tighten the banjo and had a nice spray after. ordered a new line and no more problems. you will need your engine info to get the right hard line. good luck.

I have the same type of problem. After the rruck sits all nite or for 6hrs or so it is hard to start. I have to cycle the lift pump severaltimes to get the fuel in there before it starts. After it starts it runs great. I have just replaced the lift pump and the vp44. I would appreciate any suggestions. Cranking Dave
