Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) air in fuel system

I just finished installing all new banjo bolts and also put in a mechanical fuel pressure gauge. I ran the line for that from the bottom of the fuel filter housing. My question is, when i leave the truck sit for a while(overnight) and go out to start it the next day, I have to crank it several times. Is this just air still in the lines?

Also, my pump rattles alot more than normal. Fuel pressure is 15 at idle and around 10 at WOT.

Thanks.

Chris

Once you run it for a little while all the air will purge, and if it doesn't it will run rough. If it is smooth when you get it going you are losing the prime. Look for a leak somewhere. Simple green the lines, rinse then blow them off, if you don't have a compressor use electrical contact cleaner to dry the lines. Start and run it for a minute, you should be able to find a leak in one of the joints you were messing with on the install.
