The 06 in my signature had been sitting for awhile and something drain the batteriesso I went to charge them so i could move it and as soon as I put power to the batteries the horn started beeping like crazy and the lights were flashing like an alarm was set off. I tried the key in the ignition but that didn't help. I gave up and just towed it where I needed it untill I have a better idea of how to fix it.

the 06 and newer trucks do wired things due to them being computer controlled.
Having bad batteries, sometimes make the computer crazy.

I would disconnect the for at lead 40 min.
And reconnect them with a full charge. (if possible, have them load tested if theres and thought they might be questionable)

A lot of vehicles with any form of alarm system do that to prevent people from disconnecting the batteries to turn off the alarm.
Try disconnecting the batteries and charging them like JFought said. When you go to reconnect them, have the key ready and hit the unlock button when the alarm goes off.

I've never had any luck with using the key after the alarm is going off.
I never thought about doing it with the key on...
I guess the electrician in me was worried about the spark when the cable made contact.

Thanks guys. . I had tried the key thing before but I guess I didn't give it enough time. . its fixed now
