Here is are the conditions per Edge w/Attitude:

EGTs: 850* and up to 1000

Boost: 12+

Fuel Pressure: 9-10

Load: 60+ percent

Outside Air: 20 to 30 degrees

I noticed it yesterday when I was towing my 4 placed snowmobile trailer, with with 2 sleds in it up to where we were riding, between 1500 to 2000 rpms the truck was STUDDERING. It didnt matter what gear I was in while cruising.

I want to change injectors to the 275, would that help or is there something else going on?

From my experience, If the shudder is ONLY between 1500-2000 rpms you may have a Dead Pedal or dead spot in your apps (throttle) these problems have also been known to be a bad VP, bad grounds, etc... ... From what i have personally experienced run the DTC's on the truck If you dont have access to a code scanner, cycle the ingintion from the off postion to the run position 3 times, on the third time leave the ignition in the run position and the odometer will display any active DTC's and remember when it displacy PCM DONE its not done, wait about 2 more seconds and a few more codes may display

I just today finally got around to replacing my APPS. The quite bad shuddering/stumbling issue I had while giving it 75%+ throttle is now gone. The APPS is easy to replace.

Got Codes for Studder

Got the codes from the 3 Turn Key (Thank You Grasmick):

P0500

P1639

Also, I watched the Tach and fuel pressure gage on the Attitude, and they both bounce around, the tach roughly 100rpms, and the fuel pressure 9 to 13psi...

And from what I read my injection pump is about to go huh? Where can I find what all the codes mean?

I still have 12K miles left till the warranty runs out, do I let the dealership fix this? If the VP44 needs to be replaced, I want to upgrade it to the Hot Rod version, since I will be doing that later any how...

Can I fix the P0500 code? If so how do I do that? Could that fix the P1639 code? Could the Edge w/Attitude be part of/or is the problem?

Thanks

P1693 - DTC Detected in PCM
P0500 Vehicle speed sensor malfunction

The 1693 code is common and will always show up when a DTC is detected, The p0500 is a speed sensor malfunction and may be your problem, and the PCM reads speed to fuel and defuel the truck while in motion, as this may have started as an intermittent problem and it only occurs under the listed RPM range but could escalate to a permanent. Check the grounds on the truck, (there are 10 of them) surprisingly!! Replace the speed sensor, this one should be on the Drivers side of the transmission. If the problem still exists, the VP is probably the fix, Id hate to see you spend the money on a VP if it is not the problem since your not getting a VP related code such as
p0181
p0215
p0216
p0251
However if it is a mechanical issue rather than an electrical issue, you may not see any codes present.

Also for future reference, a P0521 code could always be the Wire connection for your fueling box at the VP as one of my many installations of a TST did not end with a good connection on the pump wire and after a quick call to Mark at TST I was brought up to speed on the problem, the truck nearly dies at 1500 RPM and ran horribly, this will always end with a P0251 code for most fueling boxes from what I have been told.

Hope this helps, any more questions feel free to PM me

MBowser, I am located down here in Soldotna and am experiencing seemingly identical problems in the same rpm range as I posted several days ago. I let the dealer have my vehicle for about 10 days with absolutely no resolution- I have warranty on mine as well. Mine has been throwing codes for speed and map sensor. Dealer claimed that speed sensor code meant nothing, however reading some posts here makes me think differently. Anyway I have ordered APPS, IAT, map, and speed sensors in hopes of fixing the problem as these seem to be possible answers. I have had the problem 2 winters in a row- starts when weather turns cold and quits when breakup rolls around. I wonder if spinning the tires on the icy roads constantly for 4months a year has anything to do with the malfunction of the speed sensor? I don't know what year truck you have, but mine is 2001 with 5 speed and problem mainly occurs in 2nd and 3rd gears and always between 1500 and 2000rpms. The problem is somewhat erraditic and greatly hinders the driveability of the truck.

I experience a similar shudder at 65-70 MPH when applying moderate pedal pressure such as going up slight incline. Level travel or a sharper incline (heavier pedal pressure) are smooth. APPS looks like a real possibilty? Where do you source the parts? Dodge delaership? And what's the approximate cost? tnx BTW, no codes are displayed.
