Archived truck in air, brake question

I ordered some SS braided brake lines from EGR for my '97 2500. I'm positive I told them I had 4 wheel ABS, but the lines showed up and there are no plastic stand-offs for routing the ABS wire next to the brake line. (like the factory) I called EGR, but they are out of pocket for Christmas for a week. Do I have to find my own way to fasten the wiring? I can't cable tie-it directly because the the SS cover will wear through the wiring in short-order. I just want to know if I got the right brake line kit or not. The truck is up on jack-stands. thanks.

I just did mine and they also did not come with any stand-off for the ABS line so I cable tied them to the brake line. I guess I didn't think too much about it rubbing through. Have you taken off your old lines yet? I had a heck of a time because the flare nuts were rusted tight. If you call EGR please let us know what you come up with.

no, I haven't pulled off the old lines yet. I'm not going to until I hear from EGR. I race cars and anything that rubs up against SS braided lines wears through and quickly. hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you might try wrapping the SS brake line with some fuel line (split lengthwise with a razor blade) where the wire touches it. that's what we do on the race car.



FYI- one of my female holes in the aluminum knuckle for the caliper bolts got cros threaded. you won't believe this, the hole is tapped to 11x1. 5 mm from the factory. I had to go to the local machinist supply house, they had one. (and only keep one on the shelf)



if you want, I will email you with EGR's response, once I hear from them. their message said they will be out until the 12th.
