truck has been in dealer for 16 days for bad idle on cold startup and blue smoke on startup. they found 1 bad injector and 1 loose injector. needless to say they said it was fixed, it's home and still runs bad when first started and still smokes. anyway, figured i'd take the truck to a local dynojet 248c to get some numbers. truck always feels like it's got no power. suprisingly, i made 274hp on my second of three runs. i have a AFE pro guard 7 and torque tube, with the muffler and cat removed, just running a walker muffler now. the lowest i made was 265hp. i guess with an auto and 3:73 gears it dosn't have the punch my 99 with 4:10's has. time for a ramifier and some injectors!... . james :D

I think I know why your 04. 5 feels like a slug... ;)

and it wasn't the 410's :-laf :-laf :-laf

Happy New Year everyone!

So... ... I guess what you should have said is that every stock truck ever made "feels like a slug". Comparing highly modified trucks to stock ones is something that always mystifies me. Based on the Dyno results, I'd say your '04. 5 is running strong.

Cheers,

Dave

no, the ramifier is not a "bad" box but it is in the class of "aggressive pressure boxes" which by my measurements (of four boxes not including the ramifier) proabably raises rail pressure to or beyond the set point of the pressure relief valve. more info in TDR #47. Those that are concerned about maximum rail pressure usually avoid the 90+ horsepower pressure boxes, prefering instead to stay at about 70 HP or below due to pressure fooling.

I just read on another thread that the Edge Juice 600, like the TST box, is only timing and duration... no pressure.
