2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Truck is FIXED !!!!!!!

I just finished fixing my minor OOPS from smoking some Durango in the rear. The insurance gave me $4500. 00 after the deductable to have my friends shop fix it, However, since it just needed bolt on parts, and no paint work, he cashed me out on the check and I fixed it myself. My Stealer and I get along great (General Mgr / half owner is personal friend) so I got all my parts for 10% over dealer cost. I had the radiator and intercooler repaired instead of replaced, Upgraded to a Stull Billit grill inserts in the new grill frame and new Sport lights. It cost about $2300. 00 to fix it myself... Now ... . What to get with the savings (besides a new front door for the house to keep HER happy)... ... Maybe some new BFG's... ...

Don't know about your state, but in NJ you'd have to be saving some of the leftover cash for the surcharge that the insurance company would be putting on your policy for the next three years! Somewhere in the neighborhood of several hundred to 500. -700. 00 per year for three years.



Don't think changing insurance companies would help either, you'd have to tell your perspective new company about your accident and they'd charge you the same!



Of course, the above is if you are 'at fault' in the accident. If it's considered a 'no fault' accident then both your insurance co. and the person you were involved with's company would both

surcharge you and the other guy.



The insurance companies always get theirs!

Yeah I know all about the surcharges. a friend crashed one of my trucks when I was a kid, I got the 40% surcharge for about 5 years from Allstate. I have to check with my agent, he said they "forgive" 1 accident. I guess I will find out...
