Guys and gals, I have tried all that has been recommended to find where my power is. Changed fuel filter,cleaned screan by lift pump, checked afc for leaks,moved afc foreward,moved afc backward,starwheel up and back,moved plate up and back,checked wastegate,checked for boost leaks to no avail.



On a good note when I moved the starwheel foreward the truck has some power. But not 70 hp overstock? On the freeway at WOT egt gets to 950 and 24# boost at 90mph. But this takes 1 1/2 miles to accomplish. Towed a car trailer with vehicle on it from SF 300mi,highest egt I saw was 1050 going uphill WOT(short burst).



I have been told that I have a fuel delivery problem.



So today it goes into the shop for inj/pump removal to be flow tested,cal`ed,and timed.



Question,what should I have it timed at?



Will I encounter hard starts with the timing advanced?

Have them set the pump timing at 16* or 5. 6mm lift at TDC. The EGTs should be lower, you should have more power, and less smoke at start up. Starts will be easier in cold weather than at stock specs. These were my findings and should apply to your truck as well.
 
Have them check fuel pressure before removing pump. If its low that needs fixed first. I had a shop work to repair my low power problem and after spending a lot of money with no results a fuel pressure check (by me) showed up a bad overflow valve which cured the problem, could have saved a bunch of money.
 
Yes do what John suggested beforemyou haulin it in for an injection pump rebuild or calibration.

Look for about 20 at idle and 35 at 2500rpm in the driveway.

If this is ok go ahead and drive the truck at WOT to see whathca got. Close to 20 is good.

I tried eveything you all suggested. And somethings more than twice. I had a plugged fitting:{ :{ :{ :{

But that did not stop me,nor did it stop the advice and recommendations from you fine folks;) :)

The truck runs better than I expected. I was seeing 24# of boost at WOT and 55-65 mph and higher. Not anymore. Stomp it and (Captain we have boost),I mean right NOW.

This is fun. I have not driven like this since the 70`s. :D
