Truck is in Paint Status!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talked to DC today and they indicated that my truck is in paint. Ordered 12/30/03 with last D1 status on 1/20/04 until today. This seems like a long time to move into actual building of the truck. Just wanted to pass this along to give others an idea of how much time this process is taking. I have read here that the 800 number info is usually not as up to date as it could be so my truck could already be complete!!!!!!!!!



I am anxiously waiting for a rail car number to track its delivery to its new home! I better hurry with the naming of this truck.



Thanks again to all here on helping answer questions/concerns on the purchase of this truck. I have been a GM guy, 1 Sub. , 2 ext. cab pickups, and the switch had me nervous but this place is making me much more comfortable with this purchase.

Yeah, I like the run it through twice idea! My paint is sooooo thin. They didnt even paint the bed side pockets! Dodge saved a few bucks on paint, that's for sure! What little paint they got on the truck, at least there isnt any orange peal. 2 or 3 coats would have been nice though... ... .

Headed across Texas

Boy, the wait is killing me. Check my sig. Mine was in JS status from 1-13-04 until 2-1-04; some type of quality hold. But now, it is headed north across Texas going to Centreville, IL. Don't know how it is going to get from there to Canonsburg, PA but suspect it will ride another train for a while.



BTW, tracking it across Mexico was cool. They have a graphic that is updated hourly and you can watch the blinking dot as it moves up the line. UPRR has no graphics but still is updated regularly it seems. I guess I am worse than an expectant father!!



Sure hope they did a good job on the paint.

Ordered mine on 1/8/04, when I called 1/30 they said it was put on a train in New Mexico on 1/29/04. Still no box # as of today.

My truck was built on January 9th and also placed in storage. It finally made it to the train on Wednesday. How do you trace it through Mexico? Really looking forward to this truck. Thank you. Lonnie

Hi all, received my 2004. 5 yesterday. Its a beautiful truck.

3/4 ton,QC,4x4,Laramie package,6 speed HD manual transmission. The paint on the truck is perfect, that was the first thing I checked when I did my pre-purchase inspection. It is flawess. My only concern and I didn't see it until I brought it home was that thier is no rear splash guards left or right, front side of the fender well, they do have the back one. I was told by the dealer that the front was discontinued about 2 years ago. It's a option but I didn't see it when I was price building. Dealer can get them for $86 less 10%. You guys that have your trucks check to see if you got them. The fronts not the backs. Is it possible that they are bs ing me. Sorry I rambled on for so long

Lonnie, try this link. If you have the rail car number, put it in the first box and click process. You should then be able to see where the rail car is and what the train looks like.
