truck is making a couple odd noises

the first noise is coming from around my fan. it sounds like it's rubbing or knocking on something. I'm unsure what it is. I climbed under and can't find anything it is hitting.



the second noise sounds like a rock in my center cap (or what a loose hub cap sounds like) i pulled it out and nothing was in there. only happens at low speed under 10 mph.



any help would be appreciated.

Regarding the fan noise, I wonder if you've broken a piece of the blend door or other actuator and it has fallen into the squirrel cage. Although, I would expect you to hear it rattling in there when you spin the fan by hand.

As for the noise in the center cap, you might check the hub hearings. Perhaps one is being ground to dust? Is the sound more pronounced when turning?

the sound is not more pronounced when turning. I will check my hub bearings though to make sure. it sounds like it's coming from the back axle more then the front.



the fan noise though is coming from under the hood I can't hear it from in the cab just when it's at idle standing in front. and it stops once the rpm's are up.
