I've got a friend of mine that has a 2000 ram 2500 4x4 auto. with 120,000 miles on it, and he has had to replace the injector pump and the lift pump. The truck will start missing at about 45 to 50 mph. It will stop if you turn off the overdrive. What could it be? It sounds odd to me but I figured I would ask. The mechanic said its not throwing a code so he couldn't fix it.

Thanks in advance.

Does he have any electonic upgrades? (chips, programmers, modules) Mine had a miss after I reinstalled my TST PM3 after the comp upgrade, turned out to be a loose wire connection. Also, check all the plugs for the inj. pump and lift pump(if there is one there) Sounds like it could be a loose wire somewhere...

Mine did that last week, kinda felt like the thing was shiftin in and out of lockup.
It was the grounds. Clean all the terminals and all the ground screws on the body and engine. It took an hour and i reset the apps while i was at it.
The truck is back to normal.
