I have a 2000 2500 auto that has a problem. It started out acting like the dead pedal issue that others have had. Now it seems to be that once it sets overnight, the next morning it has no power. The boost is only 2-3 lbs, shifts a little harder, and has to be on the floor just to get up to speed. After a minute or two it will just take off like normal and all is well. The truck has 2 MAP sensor codes on it but i think the EZ is causing that. The truck is factory stock (other than the EZ). it has 40K miles on it. Anyone have an idea on what it could be? Could the map sensor actually cause all this?

Try taking the EZ off and see if the problem continues. I will get random dead pedal now that I never had before installing the EZ. Only happens to me after driving at a constant speed for awhile, push the pedal down to accelerate, and nothin happens, let off the accelerator, and re apply and it goes away and drives like normal.

Strokerschmoker, do you think the K&N caused the MAP to go bad? Someone mentioned that the oil that gets sucked off the filter will mess up the MAP sensor. My truck is hesitating and tonight it would get to about 1600rpm and take off like a bat out of h#ll. Sounds kind of like yours. I've got the K&N as well with a lot of oil in the turbo from the filter and figured it to be the problem. Did yours happen right away or did it get worse over time. Mine is getting worse. I need help. Thanks Clay

What's the fuel pressure? and not just with the key on or idling - A guy from FASS told me today, that he's seen 15 psi plus but then drops to zero out on the road. My 01 2500 4x4 5 spd 71k just thru a 216 code(Injection pump failure) - your symptons sound like mine a couple months ago and have gotten worse. The good news: It's nothing money can't fix!!!

I had trouble with the KN filter when my truck was 6 monthe old. I put a new KN filter in and watched my performance and milage drop down. I went to a local shop asking them to figure out what was wrong? Five minutes after they opened the hood they spanked my hands for that KN filter I had put in. They replaced my MAP sensor and my performance and milage came back, They also said the oil coated the MAP sensor and that I would have to replace this MS in a couple weeks as the oil works out of the intercooler. I did what they said and replaced MS myself. Every thing was ok after that. Oh ya! I now only use a BHAF and Outerwears cover. Oo. Silencer ring is MIA. ;) I do love the singing Oo.

Is there a way to clean the MAP sensor instead of replacing it? I'm also starting to get some white smoke before she warms up. What do you think? Thanks

Sounds like your injector pump is taking a crap, you might wanna check how much fuel pressure you got,i had to put a injector pump in my truck and it was throwing the same code
