Truck Lost a Tooth

Was going to install my fast coolers that I have had for sometime now, and found a gear tooth on the magnet in the trans. Did not finish the install just put the cover back on and the oil in.

in. I am taking the truck to the dealer this AM for the right side mirror to be replace it has the shakes. Also the alternator bracket is cracked. Will see what they have to say.

It's a baby tooth. It'll grow back. Put it under the front seat cushion and you will get $0. 05 tomorrow.

Just changed the fluids on my 04... ... and all looked fine..... let us know what the dealer says...

I believe your dealer will say the vib in the mirror and the tooth are directly related to your aftermarket gauges and you no longer have a warranty.

I was hoping for at least $1.



Dealer took one look at the tooth and said we need the truck for a while going to drop the trans and see what is up.



Will let you know, worked out well i will be at work and out of town for the week so I don't need the truck.

Glad to see you dealer is being helpful and kind. It's always nice when that happens.

Seven days later and the trans is out, but not apart they can't seem to get it apart. Dealer talked to the local trans shop about fixing it and they didn't want it. So the trans guy at the dealer is doing it and he is slow. Never worked on a 5600 before.



It is just a wait and see game.

Not only is a Chipanzee working on yer transmission - he isn't even a TRAINED Chimp...



Might as well get a few sharp sticks, and let them poke you in the eyes with them while yer at it...

9 days later the trans is now apart the tooth came off 4th gear it is the middle of the tooth. Both ends of the tooth are intact. Will be another week before they can get the parts and finish.

I do believe I would be calling DC making it well known that the transmission is being worked on by a mech who has never seen one.

Kind of like the Maytag repairman. Not too many opportunities to work on an NV5600.

21 days the truck is back home. Did not get to drive it much seems to be all ok. The wait was getting parts seem DC can't send the parts all at the same time.



Good to have my truck back.
