Truck lost power quadzilla is the problem

I was coming home today from vacation my check engine light came on and the truck lost 60% of its power. I pulled in to a restaurant and immediately removed the quad and checked the code po237 i think. Luckily I was close to a dodge dealership and the restaurant owner let me unhook and leave the camper when i pulled out on the road the light went off and power was restored i took it on anyway the dealership was great they took my truck straight in and gave me a loner all the dealer could find was the code and thought the map sensor was going bad i left the quad off and did not have anymore trouble

I am not sure it is totally fair to completely say it was the modules fault. It could be, but for ti to just throw an 0237 with nothing else it not very likely.



I have also talked to several people with exhaust brakes and at times they cause some weirdness. Did you happen to use the brake anytime near when you got the 0237?



Also how long have you been running the module without any issues?



Did you hook the module back up and run it?



You know I saw the other day where a guy had a couple of injector group codes. is module plugs directly to the injectors. Most likely there is not chance of it being anything, but the module, but he has blamed it on everything else including himself for turning the knob too fast. Why can't I have any customers like that??

if i adjust the power on the fly with my outlook monitor it will give me the low boost code P0237 and go into limp mode until i shut the truck off and restart it, i just dont adjust power that way anymore.

I have the CR2S module, well, I still own one anyway. It's been at Quadzilla's for about 4 weeks now with the harness for throwing the same code. It did it the first time after about a year on "0" setting and I sent it back. When it was returned, it lasted about 30 miles. Jake brake was on the first time and off the second. I don't know if it's the boxes fault either, but when I disconnected it all was well.

The brake was not on and the truck has been fine ever since i did not hook the module back up i had to far to go with two small children the xzillirator should be under warrenty i am still waiting on a reply from them the funny thing is when i got home and was looking through the mail i had a card from them for an extended warranty for 50 bucks i had an edge on my 01 for 4 years with 0 problems

does that mean that the dealer cant find the chip i have? ive read about a bunch of warrenties being canceled because of mods. the power with the quad is not outstanding but it helps with the fuel mileage thats why i bought it

I especially need your info if you say it has been at our facility for 4 weeks. We typically turn stuff around the same day. We bench test it, check the software version and if still nothing we install it on an actual truck. If we do not find any issues we typically replace it with a new one, just to be sure. If it has old software or an issue we either fix it, or replace it if we cannot fix it.



I need to know why it has been there so long. We do not get much stuff back, so it is pretty easy to keep up with. Also if you have your RMA# that would help as well.

I've had a lot of trouble with my Quad. It has been back twice and the last time I got it back I reinstalled it. The engine was slow to start and when it did run it was running rough, cackling and rattling. I removed it and engine went back to normal. I had to get a bunch of codes removed again. I am now afraid to try it again, in fact I won't. I have asked for a refund but I haven't received any reply.

Did you know that the Rail Connector can be installed 180° out of wack? I did that to mine once. It raises He** after it finally starts. Sets a bunch of codes too.

Quadzilla is a straight up company, I have the Xzillaraider XZT series module. I've had 2 problems with mine both times I called customer service and spoke to a technician that was great, I was asked to send it back, the first time for a flash and the second to install the throttle position wire in the harness. Both times I received excellent customer service and not to mention the turn around time was less than a week.

Call and talk to these guys if you are dissatisfied with the service, I am sure you will find that Qaudzilla will come around.



Why don't we as consumers, take the extra step and find out whats up before we get on here, or any other forum for that matter, and flame these guys.

I think what he was saying is to try and contact the manufacture before coming on the forums. Going to the forums first makes it look like you might be mad at us or something?



Personally, I feel that we will get these responces on the forums since we visit them and support the guys on them. You don't see that with a bunch of companies. I think our customers feel that they can get support on here, so they use it. I do not see it as a flame or anything. If I do I will let you know!

I would be really curious to hear what exactly happened. First, it is VERY rare to see any issue with a 555 motor. Most of the small, issues are with the 600 and 610 because they are extremely picky. You can look at one of those engines wrong and get a CEL. I think if you read through the site you will see the majority of issues with all brands is on the 600 series.



Now it was stated that you might be able to hook the rail connector up backwards. This will surely cause the engine to run very bad at idle. The module itself does absolutely nothing at idle. IF the module is powered up and you still get this problem, the first place to look is at the connectors. I doubt they sent a bad one back to you as they are all tested before they leave here. A lot of times they go on a truck to make 100% certain everything is working fine. You might check that connection and try again.



I am working on the other guys as we speak, and I did reviece their info.

I had a similar problem last October with my XZT. Running about a half hour and pulling about a 2% grade at 72 MPH all of the sudden the power dropped and it started lurching. I looked in the mirror and it was running a lot of smoke. Pulled over and put the jumper in and all was well. It did throw one code which later cleared.



In March I decided it was worth another try. I’ve been running it since with only one problem, which may not have been the Quad. Pulling a 5% grade at 72 the engine quit for about a half second. It threw a code and gave the engine light, but can’t remember which code , and picked back up like normal. After a couple days the engine light went away. No problems since.



So far with about 250 on this tank my overhead is at 23. 0. That probably means 18. 5 in real mileage. Not bad for a dually! I also have the crank sensor.



I talked with Quad a couple months ago about doing the switch upgrade. Just have to get the time. They seem like really good folks there and at $2. 939 for fuel, I’m smiling!

Let me chime in with my two cents. I have an 06 CTD and purchased a Quad CR2S in April of this year.



When I installed the module the first error was that I installed the rail connector backwards. Result, immediate panic..... Removed the quad and considered selling it immediately. However, after conducting further research I could find virtually nothing that would indicate their was an issue with the basic design of the module. I reinstalled the module and looked very carefully at each connection. It was then that I realized that the rail connector could be installed incorrectly. Powered up and all was well.



For the next several weeks I exerienced no issues. However, on my first camping trip, towing my trailer, I experienced virtually every symptom reported in the various posts in this thread. Stalling, lost power, missing under load etc.



Removed the module and all was well again. This time I concluded that the module was defective. I called Quadzilla and spoke with one of their tech support folks. After checking the module's serial number he immediately diagnosed the problem as being a software issue. He directed me to send the module in for a reflash to the current software level. Tech support was great. A side benefit of getting the reflash was the elimination of the throttle position sensor cable.



The end result is a perfectly functioning module. No runs, no drips, no errors. Changing power levels on the fly presents no issues. Power comes on smooth and powerfully.
