For a couple months, lack of power, "check engine" light coming on then going off (weird), truck missing now and then, then dying at low RPMs (like when idling through a parking lot). Problems got worse and worse. Tach would just "stop" even though engine was running.

Under warranty, dealer found crankshaft position sensor was history. Thought the inj pump may have gone since lift pump went earlier, but dead tach made me think otherwise.

Just FYI if this can help someone.

Geez... . i could a told ya what was wrong when it first started happenin..... happened to me just like you're reporting... . 15 miles North of Redding, CA a couple Summers ago.

Lift Pump failed about 1 1/2 hours out of Burns, OR

Nothing ever failed in the state I live in..... told the new owner - DON'T LEAVE THE STATE WITH THE TRUCK (or a membership in AAA)

:)

I lost my crankshaft position sensor with only 7-miles on the clock. I returned to the dealer in limp mode. The lift pump was still pulling strong though. :D
