I loved my white '98 and didn't want to buy a new truck but my wife and her sister really liked the Inferno Red '06. After driving it a few days I began calling it "The Red Hussy" cause it turned my head and stole my heart.

Dan

For obvious reasons I call mine "The Damn Ram" When traveling I like to talk to the 18 wheelers on my CB and give that as my "handle" I drove 18 wheelers from 1966 to 1982 in 48 states. The easiest part of the job is the driving. The hassle is with shippers and recivers. DOT check points and Weigh Masters that think they can walk on water. State Troopers near the end of the month that need to get their quota of tickets. They must send State Troopers to some kind of hate school. Rules and regulations in the name of safety do NOT promote safety. They cause anger and frustration. Every driver no matter what is being driven has a responsibility to the other people on the highway. The rules and regulations are supposed to make the highway safe. They do NOT. Those that make the rules assume that Truck Drivers are the lowest class citizens. They should be required to spend 6 months behind the wheel. There is no substitute for experience. I once had a neighbor, a State Trooper no less. He got into a disagreement and got the boot. Could not get a job and went to Truck driving school and got a job that way. After a few months he said he never realized how wrong he was when he critisized Truck Drivers when he was a Trooper. There are some things you can't understand as fully as you should until you have been there. I spent 23 months in hiding from the Japanese Army in the Philippine Jungels during the Japanese occupation during WWII. How was it, you just had to be there. Words are not aduquate to fully describe the situation. When I have attempted to tell how it was I have not been believed. The fact I was there is believed but the condtions are not believeable. Only by the grace of God Almightey did anyone survive. Many did not. I was 13 when Pearl Harbor and where we lived in the P. I. was bombed. Tomorrow is the 65th aniversary of Pearl Harbor. Time to pray for all of those who lost their lives. The only real Heros came home in a Coffin.

ram ram

Ram Ram, named by my kids. We have a VW new beetle (diesel) named Bug Bug (again by the kids). I have an 85 Ford diesel that I call the School Bus because of its ugly yellow paint.

Not real original, but mine too is "Big Red". We do have discussions, like when we leave and she is hoping we are going to pull the Jeep around on the trailer or pull out stumps and she is disappointed to find we are just going to the grocery store.

The Tahoe I used to have was "the BBH" to my friends... "Big Black 'Hoe".

It's name is Kenny. Don't remember how or why.

But "Kenny the truckster"

If it has to go to the shop, Kenny needs to go to the doc.

Or when I get the VP44 replace Kenny will have open heart surgery.

Kenny is a big part of the "family"

Lets take Kenny and the "Unit" (the 5th wheel, the big unit) camping.

When it's all hooked up Kenney is a road trail. LOL!!

My wife loves to play games with me like Kenny needs a binky(baby blanket)

to keep warm aka plugged in at night.

She sent my EDGE EZ back to Edge to be checked out in a

Gerber baby food box! She is REALLY pushing her luck.

EDGE sent it back in the same box. We laughed like crazy!

Dodgezilla

I've named a few of them. It just depends on how I feel about a machine whether it gets a name or not:

2006 Dodge Ram CTD: Dodgezilla

1995 BMW M3 (built from a wrecked M3 and 1992 325i): Frank (short for Frankenstein)

The 2000 is either "Pearl", the previous owners' name, or "Moose". The Departed '89 was "The Silver Queen", after what I had thought was a name of an EMD F-unit Locomotive, but it turned out to be a breed of corn  .

That's Too Funny. :-laf We used to get large (freezer-size) bags of that stuff as seed from the DeKalb test-plot crew chief when I was a few years younger. Beat the heck out of NK199, but nowdays theres better even than SQ. It was our first "enhanced sweet" corn.

My truck, which I've only had a month: I've been toying around with a few names. "TorqBeaste" or just "the Beast" has probably got the lead.

Thought about the Beast as well for obvious reasons but am leaning towards "THOR"

(god of thunder), diesel thunder in this case

Well, I've always called the mineral gray charcoal. My truck has been Coal since he came home. I talk to it all the time. It's the chick in me.

Before Coal was Brownie, a '05 1/2 Ton Ford. Before Brownie was Blue... My beloved '01 PSD, before that I had a '99 Explorer sport. Never liked it enough to name it. Just had it about 10 month... Hated it. And before the Explorer was my beloved little Stealthy. He was a '97 Ford Ranger. He was black and my brother called him the Stealth Bomber and it got shortened.

"Thought about the Beast"

Our's is called the Beast, as in riding the wild beast, because as I believe I posted earlier in the thread, shortly after purchasing it , "it" took her for a wild ride doing a 360 across I-10 (damp, oily truck stop exit and on ramp) coming off the on ramp and into the railing on the other side of the road doing some damage to the left front bumper and fender (the damage was minimized by the tow hook in the front). Some how it drove all the way to work, 30 miles, with the bumper dragging the front tire (I could not pull it free by hand) with no damage to the tire. She now knows the "Beast" does not drive like her Neon did :-laf

Lately, the '03 is being called " broken down POS", other times it is well known as "The Rig". Not quite sure what to name the '93 yet.

We know what you mean, UGLY is the opposite of BEAUTIFUL which is what all Rams are.

Then OLD UGLY was Beautiful, once upon a time. I believe the side plate from Chrysler states "POWER RAM". But thats OK. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am thankful to have the old rustbucket. It will still bust through the snow and climb mountains like a goat. Oo. That is what it is for. Have fun. :D GregH
