Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) truck not making power

i just recently bought a 95 dodge 12v auto, 4x4. it seems like it has more power at lower boost. it seems that i have more power at 10psi than i do when i step on it and it goes to 16psi. when i am getting on the highway it takes forever to get to 65 and egts climb like crazy. what should i do

I would suggest pressurizing your intercooler system to see if there are any boost leaks, sounds like you have one if boost only goes to 16psi and egt's climb like crazy.

Where do you live? Someone who knows these '95 trucks may be able to take a look at it. How is the transmission behaving? Is the tach acting like there is excess slippage in the trans? Has someone checked the timing? Any stange whistling or shrieking noises? A bad intercooler boot can make some really runny noises.

the transmission doesnt slip at all it just shifts hard. i am going to have the timing done and buy a tst kit. i will also have the intercooler checked. about how much shoudl a stock truck like mine have as far as boost

My 95 when it was stock made 17psi max. 18 on a real good day.

Try bocking off your the signal line to your wastegate, you may be opening early and venting the air you need to keep egts down. This would be free, compared to paying somebody to check the timing.

My wastegate is plugged. You really don't need it unless you really bomb it. Should be able to get about 20psi or so out of it. I allways check the boost system for loose or slipped clamps, they do slip down once in a while. The waste gate is just a tube running from turbo to actuator, block off turbo fitting hole with an NPT plug with antiseize on it. Easy to reinstall if you ever want to. Check your timing. .
