Competition Truck pull Sat. night here Waynesburg,Pa.

My wife and I went to see the truck Pull Sat. Night and there were lots of dodges's there to pull BUT they did not fare well. The Chevy's gas big blocks tore them all up. Those Cummins just don't make enough power to compeate with the chevy big blocks. It seam like everybody was having trouble breaking down for one reason or another. The show was not as good as last year. Not as many show up as last year?The Dodge made a poor showing this year, is that usual? :{

Did the gassers compete with the Diesels? Usually the gassers are in a lighter weight class. The Cummins and the Dodge usually don't fare too well, stock. The clutch, or stock auto and the low RPM, especially the older trucks are a handicap against a built gasser. However with some mods to the motor, pulling clutch, built auto, suspension help, and experienced driver, the gassers better stay home!

Well when you take a 1000hp gas truck at 8000lbs versus a 500hp diesel truck at 8000lbs who do you think would win?

I went Sat night to watch the pulling

Trying to pull with a stock a guy got to be crazy he don't stand a chance only tearing up his truck. There was a fellow with a 06 new one ton trying to pull against those pro's. He blew his transmission and god knows what else. Drive shafts were flying Sat. night right and left. Those Dodge's did not stand a chance against those big blocks chevys. Those Chevys had twice the HP that the dodges had. I felt bad for Dodge but On the highway it a different story I would say. Better then two thirds of the trucks had trouble in one way or another. :{

Yeah, that's why I didn't go.



650 cube NA gassers, rigid suspension, cut tires, 36" puller hitch, 8000# (normally 7500#) vs Diesels (any single or 3" twins), removable blocks, no cuts, 48" hitch.



I talked to PPP's Bob Blank and he said this was a RWYB event requested by the fair board. They are not allowed to use the term RWYB because it's trademarked by FPP. He wanted us and everyone to come, and several of my friends did, but we're talking apples and oranges here. Potentially breaking my truck to run 10th place isn't a good idea in my book.



I'm sure Drew would have given 'em hell. He's the only diesel really set up to be competitive in that class, that I've seen in this neck of the woods. Others???



Hey, was the guy with the stock '06 a white EC/LB dually? If so, I might have pulled with him at Big Knob. I see he makes the rounds.

The track was very good

There was only a few that was set up to pull. Most of the dodge's were plain stock which made them look so bad. There was 4 big Chevy's that were mean a couple of Fords?Not a contender in any form. This pull was not very good in my book. Like the 1000 hp chevys and 160 to 325 Plus Cummins. I guess there a lot of :-{} going on about the pull.
