Crankshaft position sensor code keeps coming up it does run but it's skipping n won't drive right!! Put a factory new one in n still throwing same code po336!! Anyone have an idea what it could be? It's on 99 dodge 2500 4x4 cummins 241000 on it!! We r baffled!! I do plow with it!!:confused:

It mite not be your crank position sensor. It could be bad wires going to pcm/ecm from sensor. If you google it there are some threads from other forums. Tried to reply last nite but the newer computer was being a pain, so I'm using the old one ( going to see if I can get the new one back on line). You could try to spray out connector with contact cleaner (it always get my back up switch going again). I use the cleaner from home depot, get the lubricating one and drying one. Spray connectors down with the lube one first, let set a few minutes, then spray the dry stuff on it ( I know the instructions on the cans are different than mine but I'm very bad about following instruct ions).

By the way is your crank sensor taking readings from damper on front of engine or does it get them from the crank shaft indide the engine? For got to look or grab a engine maintanence book from moose (actually I was running the register and filling up the merchandise. Then my mom came back from a long lunch.( I Let her have longs ones to get her out my ear so I can get something down.
