Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Truck runs horrible after p7100 install.

"replace the flat washer that goes between the nut and the gear with one of the new ones. Supposedly, they are formed in a wavy shape which serves as a lock washer without damaging either the nut or the gear"



I bought two lockwashers at Cummins in Portland yesterday. Jerry did say that it is a superceded number from that in my 01/96 partsbook They are not wavy and look like standard splitwasher type lockwashers. Definitely not flat ones though.

Replace the nut too. Proper fastener logic is too have a nut slightly softer than the bolt. They will stretch and not hold well.
