Engine runs rough? Bad fuel?

Just recently my truck has been acting up. Under 3/4 to full throttle acceleration the motor starts to act and sound like it is hitting the rev limiter. It is nowhere near the redline (happens around 2300 RPMs), but it gets that hesitation and cutting out sound for a few seconds. Then it will go about it's normal business. Any guesses?

I have no white smoke or anything like that. I have a Bully Dog downloader set on the performance mode. This happens about half the time when I hit 3/4 to full throttle.

I agree with Yo Hoot. Could be a problem with the box. My TST does that every now and then but to a lesser degree than what you are describing.

No codes set.

Running stock fuel pump.

I will load the stock program back in and see if the problem continues. I haven't had any other issues with it. Drives just fine in all other circumstances. I have had the BDDL on for a while, and this just started happening this past week.

Thanks for the tips... I was thinking that it might be the fuel pump not being able to keep up.

Well, I have reloaded my truck three times with the BDDL... twice on performance and once on stock. I still have the problem even on stock. Around 2300 RPMs it just stumbles and hickups for a second. It is not as bad as on performance but it is still there. Any more ideas? Is it my fuel pump? On my 03 is it in the tank or somewhere else? I guess I can take it in to the dealer, but I'd rather not. Think they would reload the stock factory program into my computer?

The lift pump was on the back side of the fuel filter housing. The replacement is a kit that moves it into the tank. I like all the kit except the pump in the tank... . it doesn't flow enough for a performance application and if it dies on the road you will be a tow-in. I would use the kit for the plumbing and wiring to run a good frame mounted pusher.
