Last few days the truck started stalling out on me. First day it was a quick lull in throttle response at a red light. Then it died all together one night while driving and took a minute to crank back up. I thought I maybe had a clogged fuel filter since it hadn't been changed in about 10k miles. Changed that and then drove to work today without issue. Then on the way home I punch it just to make sure everthing is fine and it doesn't have the same pickup it used to and then dies on me again. I am trying to figure out whether I have a Cp3 going out or if the transfer pump is taking a dump on me. Any suggestions?

First check for codes. Cycle the key run-off-run-off-run and codes will be displayed in the odometer.

As for the lift pump, the only way a lift pump failure will affect performance is if it restricts flow to the CP3. The CP3 pump is capable of running without a lift pump at all. Still, you should see a code and/or check engine light with this.

Didn't think of it since it wasn't throwing CEL on. Checked it and I have a P0628. Time for a new lift pump. Looks like the Walbro kit is going to be the way to go.
