I have been trying to isolate a electrical no start problem and continue to eliminate system after system, and still have the same problem.

It will start when The clutch safety switch lead (brown with yellow tracer) is grounded, and the ignition switch is turned. . The brown w/ yellow tracer wire is being grounded from the starter relay. .

So is it just a ground which is not working?

As the starter, relay, ignition, and clutch safety switch all work when the relay is grounded. What am I over looking?

In my diesel supplement of the shop manual, under the starter system diagram, it claims that 'for the purpose of this manual' the starter relay is just grounded. In the shop manual, The ground for the relay is part of a bunch of wires which has a splice in it, and one lead is grounded. (on the fire wall, next to the # 6 valve cover.

Does this mean that the problem lies between the starter relay and that Ground? or have i gotten confused. (heck this adventure has been rewarding, and confusing me for about 2 weeks on and off)

Any thoughts or suggestions as to what I have over looked are appreciated, as I feel like I am chasing and tracing the same thoughts over, and over , and over. .
