Archived truck surges while driving

00 4x4 quadcab auto with 3. 55s stock has 211k surges while driving in between 30-40 was wondering if it was lift pump and how to check or if its something even more serious like a trany or injector pump. any one with info would be very helpful.

when you say surging does the rpm increase and decrease 100 to 200 or300 hundred? if so its probably the converter locking and unlocking. common problem. try disconnecting the battries for several hours prefered over night. reconnect turn key on but do not start, slowly push accelerator to the floor ,slowly release . start the engine. try it. this will reset the apps. if this does not help. get a filter from DTT. to filter the noise out of the apps wiring.

Dosent do it all that much or even all the time, just once in awhile. Hope this isnt any thing major no codes either. Going to take it to the dodge dealer tommorow. Dealer checked today and said all good so hopefully it was nothing im going to get some gauges so I can monitor things my self.

surging problems

There was an article in one of the tdr's a few issues ago. ( Someone please report which one ) on putting a resistor in series in the orange wire to the PCM if the voltage is above 5 volts it causes problems.

Does your engine idle smoothly????? this is important.

Yes my engine idle's just fine. Dealer couldn't find any thing wrong after consideration though i think that it is the torque converter lock up, But who know's.
