Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) truck trans dead, need good dodge trans in Atlanta, Ga area

2001, 2500 long bed, auto transmission. Any recommendation for a reputable mechanic/transmission shop around the Atlanta area? I can tow it, so any recomendation within 80 miles of Atlanta is fine. Just would like to find someone who knows these vehicles. Might even consider upgrade. Just looking for options and reputable shop.

I would go to Garmon's Diesel just south of ATL... . I made the 200 mile trip there (one way) in November to their open house/dyno day and was just incredibly impress with everything down there.

Keep us posted on your results, I'm having 47RE issues as well.

thanks, I will check them out. I bought it used with 240,000 miles, so I am willing to invest a little money to make the repair a long term fix.

I just checked, there are two, McDonough, GA and Griffin, GA. Any idea which one you visited? Anyone know if these are owned by the same person, or just two different businesses with same name?

They have recently moved to a different shop... . the phone numbers may or may not be the same. I'm pretty sure it was in Griffin, GA... I'll double check...
