Truck was a 2005 dually with NV-5600 and 91K miles in excellent condition, one owner truck. Did not have a scratch on it. Got rear ended, but fortunately no one was hurt. Had just put on $1,817 in six new tires on the truck. Think the insurance company is trying to low ball me on the settlement. Blue book shows a Trade in range of $20,423 to $23,962.
Blue Book shows a Private party value of $18,845 to $23,927. My thought is that
the truck would be in the upper range of these numbers
due to low mileage and really good condition.
Anyone with recent experience or someone in the business, have a question?
Have heard that a lot of these Cummins trucks will sell for amounts above those in the guides. Any thoughts.
They are not even offering low trade in value.

Thanks in advance

all insurance companies try to low ball. Showing documentation such as KBB and NADA values and actual ads usually gets them to give a better price.

Known wrecked truck de-values the price for me

I think the OP knows that. He is not asking what the value is now or refurbished. I think he is asking the value before the wreck as he needs a payoff and will need to replace it.

In November of 2017 I had a deer take out my econobox commuter car. This is the first time I have gone through the claims process, been lucky I guess. My insurance company (Farm Bureau) gave me the highest NADA retail price plus a positive adjustment for low mileage minus my deductable.
I would find out their valuation process, maybe get some recent ads the showing high asking prices along with Kelly Blue book and NADA values to try and state your case.

Crow,
I've been looking for a while now for a 03 thru 05 w/ NV5600 LB SRW 2500/3500. Insurance companies will always short change (my experience at 75 yrs old). If they will consider comps (comparison prices) for equal only exact replacement, go to autotrader.com do a filtered search for an 05 like yours. Asking price for trucks like yours with 130K+ miles range from $28K thru $34K, and the sellers WILL NOT consider a reasonable lesser offer. I think most of us on this site know that trucks of your year vintage are irreplaceable even if offered a new one as replacement. I not rich; but, I may be able to swing a deal on a new one? I won't consider a new truck from any of the big three. I've got good transportation for now, and will keep looking and hoping. Best of luck to you. Keep us informed as to how you make out.

You simply need to ask to be made "whole" again. You can ask that they "replace" your truck with similar condition and miles. Include the new tires receipts. Find a replacement truck and tell them to buy you this one. You can also demand they "fix it" to bring them to their senses. Salvage title is not making you "whole" because IMO you didn't have that title branding before getting rear ended.
