Ive been out of the country and away from the forums for a while, but I know you guys can feel my pain. My truck was stolen last night from my friends driveway in Knoxville Tn.

I have not started the new job yet so I'll probably buy used. What is considered the sweet spot in third gen 5. 9 models?

Any Advice in dealing with the insurance would be most appreciated.

Sorry about the loss, what a bummer.

I'm curious if your '03 had the Sentry anti-theft keys in it? If it did, it would be the first one I've ever heard of being stolen (without using a flatbed).

As far as the sweetest 3rd gen, if I had to do it again I'd look for an early '04 305/555 QC truck. Great power, no emissions junk, rear headrests.

Man, sorry to hear about that. Just out of curiousity, what part of Knoxville was that? That's hitting a little close to home! --Eric

Sorry to hear that. Mine is in the shop as we speak. The sorry scum tried last night. Broke out the window & tore the steering column apart. Luckily the sentry key worked. Neighbor came over & said your truck is in the middle of the street. Sure enough they had got it started with a screwdriver or whatever & it quit on them. Wish I could have caught them.

I feel for you as I have gone through this a while back also. got the truck back about 3 weeks later, wrecked. Insurance Co. was great except for replacing tools I lost. Had to talk to my Homeowners ins. which was a waste of time. Most of the tools were work related and they wouldn't cover those. I lost about 9 grand worth of work tools.
